SUPPORTING THE PARISH

We are grateful for the support we received from parishioners both in the Offertory Collection, the retiring collection for the Building Fund and support in the various fund raising activities, particularly our Parish and Schools Lottery.

A major refurbishment took place in 1999, costing £200,000.  Half of that had been raised in previous years and half was borrowed from the Archdiocese.  The Building Fund collection is to help pay off that loan.  We pay £10,000 each year. 

Those who pay tax are encouraged to make a Gift Aid Declaration.  If their donations are made in a numbered envelope, we are able to claim back the tax paid on the donation.  This process is administered by parishioners and enables us to claim back a substantial amount each year. GIFT AID Declaration Forms are available from the church. 

A summary of the Annual Accounts for 2006 are available in the church.  They show that the Parish benefits greatly from the operation of the Parish Club.  Without that help, the Parish could not survive financially.  We need more of the parishioners to use the Parish Club for social events: parties, etc.  Please encourage your friends to use the Club.
