As you can see we had some unwelcome visitors at our little chapel in Yew Tree Cemetery
Unfortunately these unwelcome visitors have now returned on three occasions doing more damage. We couldn't have our Usual 9.15am Mass on Palm Sunday.
Some good news from Yew Tree Chapel: we have had the picture restored. The photograph gives a good impression of the painting.

The GOOD FRIDAY TOMB
The Tomb has become our EASTER GARDEN
The drawing of St Dominic's which is at the head of each section and also appears on our Newsletter and other Parish publications is by ELAINE JOYCE. It was drawin in 1989 for the Order of Service Books for the wedding of Margaret Sinnott and David Tomlinson (24 - 6 - 89). Elaine Joyce, who now lives in New Zealand and works as a graphic designer, has given permission for the drawing to be used in this way.
The Parish is home to four Salesians: Fr james Gallagher, Fr George Robson, Fr Peter Dooley and Fr Tony Frain. click on the "Community" pdf file for a picture!!

Our Mission Statement
The community of St Dominic's strives to grow in the Catholic Faith. All use their gifts to help, love and support each other following the example of Jesus.
This will give you an idea of what the church was like when first built. There have been two refurbishmeents, the latest on in 1999.

The Chapel in Yew Tree Cemetery was the first church in our parish. In fact it dates back to 1890, long before there were any houses in the area. It is used for Mass each Sunday at 9.15am
